Following the takeover by Heineken, Tiger Beer has dropped its Singapore creative agency, DDB.David Tang, president and CEO, DDB Group Singapore confirmed the loss of the account. In a statement Tang said:"We remain great fans of Tiger in Singapore, particularly Rene who has been an excellent marketer. It's a pity they chose to look outside of Singapore for the creative brand idea but we're persuaded they will come back home soon one day - to really engage Singaporeans. There will always be a special place for Singapore's very own homegrown brand."Update: However, sources have told Marketing that BBDO Singapore has been appointed in DDB's stead, without a pitch - for Tiger’s local creative account. BBDO would not comment on this. APB's Rene De Monchy has confirmed the appointment, saying that it has appointed BBDO Proximity "to derive more efficiency by leveraging BBDO’s strength in generating local content".According to De Monchy, APB has parted ways "amicably with incumbent DDB Group Singapore who worked on the account for the past 3 years," adding that "Tiger Beer aims to reinvent itself radically, from internal to external, as we gear up for an exciting 2014".Droga5 has been tipped to have won regional creatives for Tiger Beer. However, both Asia Pacific Breweries (APB), which owns Tiger Beer, and Droga5 could not be reached for official comment at the time of publishing.Previously, the regional, as well as global account for Tiger was held by Rothco.
