Telekom Malaysia (TM) has called for a branding pitch.
The recently launched pitch has agencies from both Singapore and Malaysia vying for the account, confirmed Izlyn Ramli, VP of group brand and communication of TM to A+M.
“We want to push for a ‘Life made easier’ promise to customers,” said Ramli. The brand is also trying to move out of being perceived solely as a tech brand and into a more relatable brand which integrates with consumer lifestyles. She added that the brand is now looking to appoint an agency with clear support and can bring its future campaign and branding executions to consumers in an engaging manner.
Meanwhile UM’s social media arm was recently appointed to handle TM’s social media account. UM’s digital team also handles TM’s digital account. The agency will be using data compiled by TM and an in-house team to push the brand name forward in the mobile and digital arena. This would be for a period of two years.
Ramli also added that the focus of the brand now going forward is to move from the traditional and into the digital space going forward.
