StarHub's Nicole Ong and Y&R's creative Bruce Watt head to JKK

James Kennneth Koh (JKK) Executive Search has appointed Nicole Ong joins as the practice lead of account management and digital technology. She will be reporting to Jasmine Eng, director of advertising, branding and digital technology. Ong joins from StarHub where she took on the role of social media team lead, and has worked with agencies such as We Are Social, Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Publicis Singapore with over 10 years of experience.Jasmine Eng, director of advertising, branding, digital technology added, "Ong's career started at Publicis with me as her mentor, so it feels surreal that after 10 years, we are working together once more.  The account management portfolio is one of the key pillars in JKK, having Ong come in to take over the reins from me allows the company to do more quality work for our clients and talent.  Thereby continuing our deep heritage within the advertising circle.”Ong added, "I’ve enjoyed the last decade of my career as a practitioner and it’s been exciting, but what’s most rewarding is when I build up a team of great people and see them grow their careers over time. So when I was looking for a change, this next move came naturally to me. I’m hoping to use my industry experience to add value to both talents and clients alike."JKK also appointed former Y&R creative Bruce Watt (pictured) as its practice lead of creative. Together with Merwin Chew, Watt will place mid to senior level creatives in digital, advertising, branding, and design companies, among others. This is along with corporate clients who are looking to hire creative talent-in-house locally and in the region.Prior his appointment, Watt was regional creative director with Y&R Singapore since 2007, where he worked on accounts such as Caltex Asia Pacific, and M1 among others. He brings over 25 years of creative experience, and has worked in London, Hong Kong and Singapore for Saatchi & Saatchi, FCB and Publicis.According to James Koh, CEO of JKK, Watt has the stature and respect of the creative community, and knows what clients are looking for as he has been a practicing creative for the last 25 years.“We are looking to own the creative patch – now that we have both Watt and Chew working on it, ” Koh added.“I think the skills I’ve learnt over those 25 years are going to come in very handy when I’m trying to match the right creatives with the right agencies, where both parties come out winners. I see this job as a chance to help creatives at all levels, find opportunities that will help their own personal career progression,” Watt said.Meanwhilee Grace Yeo has been appointed director of Corporate Sector, with her focus to expand JKK's footprint in the corporate sector locally and in the region. With more than 10 years of experience in executive search and talent acquisition within corporates, the company believes she is perfectly positioned to build this side of the business for JKK.
