SPH has partnered with Business Insider (BI), US-based global business news source. The licensing partnership has allowed BI to operate Singapore and Malaysia editions of BI in both countries. SPH will take over from Rev Asia Berhad, which used to operate BI Malaysia and Singapore. The recently launched sites complement SPH’s stable of digital publications with a millennial-focused product for young working professionals. Aimed at young professionals and entrepreneurs, BI discusses topics such as finance, technology, innovation, and trends. BI Singapore and Malaysia will offer local news, business, and lifestyle coverage, in addition to content from BI’s newsrooms around the globe, including Australia, Germany, UK, and its New York headquarters.Former AsiaOne deputy editor Sujin Thomas has been appointed the editor of Business Insider Singapore and Malaysia. In his previous role, he helped AsiaOne shift and drive editorial content in the challenging online sphere. Prior to his stint in AsiaOne, he was the deputy editor at SPH Razor for more than two years. Thomas has also worked as the assistant news editor at the Straits Times and the news editor at the now defunct My Paper."Many young working professionals are ambitious and aspire to be next-generation business leaders. Business Insider targets these millennials and will deliver a content mix to help readers be smarter and more successful, both at work and at play," Thomas said in a statement to Marketing."Business Insider has a strong following among a young and mobile readership with an interest in business and lifestyle stories delivered in its unique way,” Warren Fernandez, editor-in-chief of SPH’s English, Malay and Tamil Media group and editor of The Straits Times said.“SPH has a deep understanding of business media and the digital space, so it’s the ideal partner to serve local readers with BI’s unique style of business news: social and mobile at its core and laser-focused on the news that emerging business leaders want and need to know,” Roddy Salazar, VP International, Business Insider added.SPH has also recently partnered with ZALORA in June. The partnership will see both organisations share editorial content and syndication between SPH Magazine’s Women’s Network Magazines and ZALORA’s fashion magazine, ZCOOP, as well as cross-channel promotions on its social media pages.
