SPH iink Awards 2015 launches

The eleventh edition of the advertising awards SPH iink Awards 2015, with its theme "Inspiration comes when you least expect it", is seeking to reward the best creatives that uses SPH’s spectrum of media platforms comprising print, digital, radio and out-of-home. It is organised by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).All creative and media agencies, advertisers and other advertising-related organisations are invited to submit their advertisements published in any of SPH’s 19 newspaper titles and other media platforms for this year’s Awards.SPH iink Awards' nine categories include:A1: Print Single – EnglishA2: Print Campaign – EnglishA3: Print Single/Campaign – ChineseA4: Print Classified/Recruitment/NoticeA5: Print Creative Media BuyB: DigitalC1: Radio CommercialC2: Radio CampaignD: Out-of-HomeE: SPH IS ON CampaignPoints will be allocated to the winners and finalists of each category. The entry that scores the highest number of points from the judges will be named the overall Grand Prix winner. The highest scoring agencies across all categories will be crowned the iink Creative Agency Of The Year and the iink Media Agency Of The Year, respectively.A successful advertisement or campaign must connect well with its audience. Shortlisted advertisements from quarterly-run Readers’ Choice Contests will be put up for readers to vote as the winner of the Readers’ Choice Award.This year's SPH iink Awards focuses on engaging future creative professionals through the LASALLE Creative Students' Challenge.  Seven teams comprising Year 2 Design Communication students from BA (Hons) Design Communication Programme, Advertising Communication Specialism participated in this challenge.The students were tasked to conceptualise a ground-breaking integrated campaign to reinforce the SPH Newspaper brand and to use the power of print as a preferred media choice. The winning entry will be revealed at the SPH iink Awards 2015 Celebration Night. The winning team will walk away with SG$3,000 cash and a trophy.Elsie Chua, executive vice president and head, marketing division at SPH, said: "On a daily basis, readers of SPH's newspapers and other media platforms get to enjoy many memorable advertisements by Singapore's creative talents. These ads are the result of a successful relationship between the client and the creative team as well as the media agency.""As Asia's leading media company, we are delighted to have shone the spotlight on so many deserving talents over the years and spurred the creative industry to greater heights through the SPH iink Awards. This year, we are also pleased to include a new student engagement section to the awards and we hope to help in the discovery and development of Singapore's future creative directors," added Chua.Entry Submission and PrizesTo be eligible for the SPH iink Awards, entries must have appeared in at least one of SPH’s media platforms during the period of 1 June 2014 to 15 May 2015. The submission deadline is 15 May 2015.The winners of SPH iink Awards 2015 will be announced at a gala event in July. The winning advertisers from Categories A (A1 - A5) and E, as well as the Grand Prix winner, will each receive a full page advertisement in either The Straits Times or Lianhe Zaobao.The winning advertiser from Category B (Digital) will receive SG$30,000 worth of media credits. The winning advertisers from Category C (Radio) will each receive SG$10,000 worth of airtime. The winning advertiser for Category D (OOH) will receive SG$35,000 of digital airtime.In addition, the Creative Agency that wins the Grand Prix will bag a cash prize of SG$8,000. If the Grand Prix winner is from Category A5 (Print Creative Media Buy) or Category E (SPH IS ON Campaign), the media agency involved will also win SG$8,000 in cash.
