SP Lee, who has been the CEO and executive creative director of Dentsu Malaysia since August 2003, is leaving his role. A+M understands no replacement has been named yet.Under Lee's leadership, the agency has worked with clients such as Telekom Malaysia, Canon, Malaysia Airports, Maybank, Sime Darby Properties, Panasonic, Pavilion, Permanis Sandilands, Lexus and many others.Meanwhile, Dentsu has confirmed the departure but did not comment further. A+M has also reached out to Lee for a statement.Lee has over 25 years of experience with the industry. Prior to his role with Dentsu, he was with Dentsu Y&R for three years. Lee is also a big believer of meritocracy in the industry once telling A+M he personally believes in "keeping a borderless open space so voices can be heard and ideas can surface."In recent months the Dentsu Aegis network has seen a significant amount of shuffle in its Asia Pacific and Malaysia teams. In January this year, in what is said to be a major cost cutting move and “eliminate duplicate costs” Dentsu Aegis Network  consolidated the Asia Pacific and SEA functions for its finance, HR, legal, IT and communications departments and saw several departures. However, the network has shifted its focus to the Malaysia market with its acquisition of  independent creative agency Merdeka LHS and also Consider Digital. Most recently the network also found itself in hot water after its agency Dentsu Utama was accused of plagiarism at the Kancil Awards.
