Softlan launches breast cancer campaign

In honour of World Breast Cancer Awareness month, Softlan has launched its annual awareness campaign to help educate consumers about breast cancer prevention. This year’s campaign from the brand, “We Stand by You”, focuses on supporting breast cancer patients and survivors as well as family members who often serve as a source of strength. To mark the launch of the campaign, Softlan held a “Pink Day Out” – an event that gathered families who have survived breast cancer and celebrated their journey towards survival with a private luncheon. Family members, specifically children were urged to volunteer their time and effort to learn how to cook and prepare a delicious “pink themed menu” for their mothers. In a press statement, Softlan also cited research from the Malaysian Oncology Society that stated that breast cancer is the most common form of cancer affecting women in Malaysia. Softlan also partnered with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA), National Cancer Council (MAKNA), and the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to help raise awareness and has made a commitment to raise a minimum of RM 100,000 throughout this month. With every purchase of Softlan fabric softener, 10 cents will be donated to the brand’s charitable partners.“Softlan continues to support this particular cause because women represent the heart of the home as well as our core consumers. We care about the health and well-being of our consumers and their families and this campaign aims to educate and encourage the women in their lives to screen and check themselves regularly,” Peter Torrington, general manager, Colgate-Palmolive Malaysia said.
