Snap Mobile secures Skype and car.com

Snap Mobile launches new ad platforms for the mobile apps of Skype and Car.com.hk; as well as an exclusive rich media format called “Showroom” on mobile websites that are under its representation."Showroom" is a banner ad that reveals a large panel featuring six product shots, a native tap-to-video function and social interaction functions like links to Facebook, Weibo, YouTube.Other new products include a rich media mobile ad formats on existing iOS and Android apps like in-app video and HTML5, and an audience and location-based display advertising option with a global mobile advertising and data platform.The expansion of products also comes with four additional headcounts in the sales and operations team, which will continue to expand in the year.One of the first customers to advertise on Skype Mobile is Galaxy Macau. Herbert Lam, regional digital director at Universal McCann, the agency of record for the hotel, said he sees the mobile communication programme to be “an important modern day platform”.“The cross-platform exposure on Skype allows us to be where our users are anywhere, anytime, no matter the device. We look forward to the extension of Skype advertising on other platforms.”Anthony Wong, commercial director of Snap Mobile, added mobile advertising has become an indispensable platform for advertisers in Hong Kong.“With advertising spends on mobile projected to growth 50% this year, we foresee advertisers becoming increasingly sophisticated about how and where they choose to invest their marketing spends on mobile,” Wong said.
