HTC's marketing lead exits, firm yet to make replacement

Sirpa Ikola, HTC's head of marketing, South Asia has left the company.A spokesperson from HTC has confirmed the departure with Marketing. He added that HTC will be looking for replacement for this role and will be revealing the new marketing lead soon.Ikola (pictured) first came on board HTC in March last year and was responsible for creating and executing South Asia's integrated marketing strategy across eight countries. Her duties included media planning for marketing mix; retail marketing & channel marketing programs; PR strategy and execution amongst others. She was in charge of the Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore and emerging markets."Ikola will be leaving the company to pursue other interests. We would like to thank her for her support and commitment to HTC and to wish her every success in her future endeavours," he added.Prior to her stint at HTC, she was head of smart devices product marketing, SEA at Nokia. She was in Nokia since 2003. There she was responsible for the profit and loss of Nokia's Smart Devices Portfolio in Asia-Pacific, including portfolio planning, game planning, go-to-market programs, channel sales, device and solution readiness, strategic product marketing, B2C and B2B campaign creation and launch.
