SingTel hires social media management firm during World Cup

SingTel mio TV has appointed social media management firm Local Measure to handle its social media management for the World Cup season. The agency was appointed without a pitch and will only handle duties pertaining to mio TV.Local Measure will help to gather aggregated location-based data from social media platforms and from fans inside the stadiums. This information will then be turned into interactive social content for viewers at home.In a statement to the press, SingTel said through the appointment it hopes to bring to "Singapore football fans an enhanced viewing experience of the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament through their mobile devices."Anurag Dahiya, head of content at SingTel mio TV said “We are delighted to partner with Local Measure to deliver authenticity and bring Brazil’s excitement of the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament to our viewers. Local Measure’s unique technology will enable Singaporeans travelling to Brazil for the biggest soccer event, to share the fun with family and friends back home by hashtagging their social media posts with #mioBrazil.”
