Shouting on the right platform

Awards weeks away, 8tv is increasing its efforts in reaching out to youths, especially on social media."As we had identified our target market beforehand, we had also identified the platforms to be used. Awards Twitter account @TheShoutAwards and its official hashtag #shoutawards have so far garnered at least 1.7 million followers.This year, Shout! Awards is taking it on-ground as well with Shout! Movement, a one-day event (11 November) for youths to gather and be inspired by key players in the fashion, music and film industry through workshops, networking sessions and talks.The Shout! Movement will be supported by the RT ME! Campaign, a community-driven Twitter campaign.To date, the Shout! Awards Facebook page has garnered 7,046 followers.Shout! Awards is sponsored by Canon and co-sponsored by YES."We believe there are several similarities between music and photography. With our partnership with Shout! Awards, we believe it has helped Canon take the photography passion to a lifestyle 'must have' and enable us to deepen our engagement with the youths," said Simon Wong, director of imaging communication products, Canon Marketing Malaysia.Also on board are media partners Red.fm, Suria FM, Capital FM, Fly FM, Hai Magazine, HotMagazine and Media Hiburan.Now in its third year, Shout!
