SCC wins HK Express PR duties

Hong Kong Express Airways, Hong Kong’s newest low-cost carrier (LCC), has appointed Strategic Communications Consultants (SCC), a subsidiary of SPRG, to manage its public communications efforts in Asia.

The six-month contract will see SCC assisting Hong Kong Express Airways in covering its corporate, trade and consumer communications, as well as managing events and special promotions.

“SCC is incredibly excited to be working with Hong Kong Express, Hong Kong’s own low-fare carrier,” said Vivian Fok, managing director of SCC.

“Hong Kong people have been crying out for a Hong Kong-based airline that offers competitive prices and great destinations. We look forward to communicating to the public what fantastic value and service Hong Kong Express can offer them.”

The agency’s first project for the airline is a new Facebook page, with a 10-day competition starting next week. Users can vote for their ideal destinations, explaining why HK Express should fly to those locations. Those with the best explanations stand a chance to win free flight tickets.

“We are pleased to be working with SCC, given its record of exciting and dynamic PR campaigns,” said Andrew Cowen, deputy CEO designate of Hong Kong Express.

Hong Kong Express first tapped Artemis to take on PR works when it announced its LCC launch last month.
