Ricky Lam rejoins Havas Hong Kong as MD

After a year with TBWA\Shanghai, Ricky Lam has returned to Havas Worldwide Hong Kong as managing director.Lam is no stranger to Havas, having spent 14 years of his advertising career in the network. He began his career at Havas Worldwide Hong Kong in 2000, where he stayed for 10 years before relocating to China as business director of Havas Worldwide Beijing.In his new role, Lam will lead and manage the group’s creative operations with a central focus on talent acquisition, growing existing clients, and driving new business.Over the course of his career, he has worked with major brands across a wide range of categories including McDonald’s, MasterCard, Citi, DBS, Credit Suisse, Dettol, Durex, GSK, Air France, Hong Kong International Airport, Sony, Citroen and Sun Hung Kai Properties.Lam will report directly to CC Tang, chairman of Havas Worldwide Hong Kong and CCO of Havas Creative group Greater China. The appointment will be effective 6 April.“We are very excited to have Ricky rejoin the team. He is part of a new, young breed of advertising professionals who know our business very well. Ricky's clients span a multitude of categories and channels covering both local and international brands. I believe that Ricky will be able to adapt quickly and excel in his new role,” said Mason Lin, chairman of Havas Creative group Greater China.Commenting on the appointment, Lam said: “This is a truly exciting opportunity for me to rejoin Havas and return to my home town of Hong Kong. The agency has a very strong culture of innovation and provides young talent an opportunity to develop expertise in multiple aspects of business. We all recognise the significance of integration in the agency business and I know our Hong Kong office is heading towards this direction.”
