Rice Communications opens in Hong Kong

Singapore-based boutique communications agency Rice Communications has opened an office in Hong Kong.The move comes as an increasing number of the firm's clients look to the agency for counsel and campaign execution in North Asia.Leading the new office is recently appointed account director Phoebe Sou. She brings over 10 years of experience in strategic communications, PR, corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement across Greater China and New Zealand. Sou is joined by senior account manager, Joel Lah, who has relocated to Hong Kong after four years with Rice in Singapore.The boutique firm, which was set up in 2009, operates a single P&L across the agency's offices in Singapore, Myanmar and Hong Kong, giving its clients flexibility in how regional campaigns are structured and managed. It has 36 people across its three offices.The Hong Kong office is working with clients across the technology like Digital Realty and Internet Society, lifestyle, travel and hospitality sectors"Our growth is fuelled by the talented people we have and the trust they've built with our clients," said Sonya Madeira, managing partner of Rice. "Our clients in Southeast Asia look to us to support their campaigns all across the region and having a direct presence in Hong Kong will help us take that support to a new level."
