IPG Mediabrands has appointed Ben Poole (pictured) as managing director for Reprise Asia Pacific, its full-service digital-first performance marketing agency. In his new role, Poole will lead the operational growth and development of Reprise in APAC as well as driving digital strategy and innovation across the region.Based in the regional Reprise headquarters in Singapore, Poole will report to Leigh Terry, CEO IPG Mediabrands APAC, and the global Reprise leadership team in its New York headquarters. His appointment is effective 15 June 2018.Prior to the appointment, Poole was chief digital officer at MEC UK for two and a half years. Before that, he was head of digital MEC Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for agency digital marketing growth in markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Australia, India, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, boasting 18 years of digital media experience. The appointment also comes on the back of the exit of Scott McBride, chief digital officer for APAC at IPG Mediabrands, who was tasked with the launch of Reprise. Confirming the move, an agency spokesperson said that McBride had "decided to move on to a new challenge".“I am both delighted and excited to be joining Reprise at such a pivotal moment for the company. The end-to-end digital capability and coverage is unique. The offer is holistic and simple – this is increasingly what clients want. I look forward to helping make Reprise the best full service digital agency in Asia Pacific,” Poole said.“Poole has a proven background delivering impressively scalable digital transformation that fuels business growth, client retention and satisfaction. We are excited that we were able to entice him back to Asia and introduce him to the Reprise business at this critical growth juncture," Terry added.Marketing has reached out to IPG Mediabrands for additional comment. The news follows the recent rolling of IPG Mediabrands' agencies Society and Ansible under the Reprise banner to create a new full-service global performance media marketing unit. The unified Reprise will continue to partner with and support UM and Initiative, the global media networks within IPG Mediabrands, as well as cultivate its own client base, a report read at the time.Read also: Ben Poole exits MEC head of Interaction role in APACIPG Mediabrands’ Reprise appoints new head of digital solutions for APAC
