Red Fuse names Asia head of media

Red Fuse Communications, the WPP full-service integrated agency, has appointed Charlie Newbery (pictured) as head of media Asia, dedicated to serving all of Colgate-Palmolive’s brands worldwide.Based in Hong Kong, Newbery will report to Jason Oke, Regional Managing Director, Red Fuse Communications.In his new role, Newbery will lead the delivery of all media services to Colgate-Palmolive across Asia, including both leading a regional media team in Hong Kong, as well as overseeing implementation through the MEC network across 12 Asian countries. He will also be part of Red Fuse’s Asian management team.Newbery joins Red Fuse from Starcom EMEA in Dubai where he was a global media lead on Emirates Airlines, overseeing a hub system with operations in Hong Kong, London, Chicago and Dubai, as well as working on GSK and on Kraft/Mondelez across EMEA.Prior to that, Newbury worked at MediaCom and UM in London, and also spent time as a client marketer at News International where he worked on the rebranding and re-launch of The Sunday Times.Commenting on the appointment, Oke said: “We are very excited to welcome Charlie to our team in Hong Kong.
