Pos Ad Group, one of Malaysia’s largest in-store branding and shopper engagement solutions providers, has appointed Sam Chan as the new chief executive officer of Pos Ad Media. Pos Ad Media is the group’s primary subsidiary focused on retail branding solutions.
Chan is tasked to drive the success of Pos Ad Media and enhance its capabilities especially in the area of digital retail communication to complement Pos Ad Group’s total shopper engagement promise. He succeeds Sherlyne Yong, who has stepped down to pursue family commitments, said the company.
Prior to this appointment, Chan (pictured) was the managing director of Geometry Global, and was part of the team that established the agency’s total shopper activation positioning and services in Malaysia. He sat on two global communities, data and digital, and was responsible to equip Geometry Global’s holistic activation services with these capabilities for the region. He was also the general manager of G2 Direct Interactive, where he steered the agency in growing its business and capabilities in digital, data and integrated communication.
Sue Ann Chew, group managing director of Pos Ad Group said that in combination with the agency’s in-store strength and Chan’s track record in having lead and managed integrated brand communications for numerous reputable brands – such as developing an entire digital ecosystem for P&G’s Pantene brand in eight markets across Asia and spearheading Shell’s first rewards and recognition programme for retail excellence, this will catapult Pos Ad Media into more relevant offerings.
“Chan is a perfect fit to help brands connect with shoppers from online to offline and vice versa. I am confident of a bright and dynamic future for Pos Ad Media under his leadership,” Chew said.
