Perform eyes Asia markets

Digital sports media company Perform will be extending its presence in Asia starting with the Malaysia and Indonesia markets in 2014.Perform now has a fully-fledged sales and advertising operations team in Asia, led by Elliot Renton, commercial director , Southeast Asia. Perform’s products and services have been sold via third party partners over the past two years, but the company has now announced its decision to move its advertising sales back in-house.Total revenue in the Asia Pacific region for 2012 was £24.8m, a growth of 62.8% year on year. This revenue represents 16.4% of global revenue for the company.Perform also hopes to capitalise on the rise of digital content consumption and digital trends across markets worldwide, including emerging markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America.Earlier, Perform acquired platforms such as Goal and ePlayer. Traffic on Asian editions of football site Goal.com, has experienced page view growth with both the Singapore and Malaysia growing over by 170% since March 2012, according to Perform. Southeast Asian editions of Goal have seen a collective growth of 956% since September 2011, growing from 9.5 million to over 100 million page views and the growth in Southeast Asia contributed to the 162.4 million pages views across Asian editions of Goal in September 2013 alone.In 2012 Perform claims its sports video on-demand platform, ePlayer, hit 859 million streams in Asia, accounting for nearly a fifth of the five billion ePlayer streams worldwide.Tim Holland(pictured), managing director, Asia at Perform said: “It is an exciting period for us, and we look forward to engaging directly with media agencies, and driving successful integrated advertising campaigns for clients in Southeast Asia.”
