Richard Lee, senior vice president and chief content officer of PepsiCo Greater China, and chief marketing officer of Tingyi Asahi Beverages China, has announced he will be stepping down “to pursue new life passion” after 19 years.
The Hong Kong-born Lee joined the beverage company in 1997 as a brand director and later as vice president of marketing for beverages in China. Under his leadership, the brand has transformed to be one of China’s hottest youth brands.
He took on the global position in 2007 and returned to the China market in 2010 as PepsiCo Greater China CMO. In 2014, he was promoted as CMO of Tingyi Asahi Beverages.
“I’ll always be proud to consider myself as a part of the Pepsi family. I’m always thankful to those beautiful memories, experiences and people I’ve ever come cross these years. I especially thank Indra, Sanjeev, Simon, Brad and Mike and the China team for their continuous support,” said Lee in his resignation announcement.
