NTUC FairPrice has appointed Loh Lik Shien as head of marketing. Marketing understands that Loh will take over the duties of former director of brand and marketing Christina Lim (pictured), who left in April to join Dentsu Singapore as its managing director. Marketing has reached out to NTUC FairPrice for comment.Prior to her appointment, Loh was executive director and head of marketing, treasury services, trade & corporate banking for APAC at J.P. Morgan. Before that, she spent around eight years at Standard Chartered Bank, holding multiple senior roles in marketing and customer management in its consumer banking and wealth management segments.Meanwhile, Lim spent 10 years at NTUC FairPrice, helping to transform the homegrown grocery retailer into a progressive and innovative brand in its field. She also spent 18 years in the advertising industry where she also took on senior positions in Publicis Singapore, TBWA Singapore and EURO RSCG Singapore (now known as Havas Worldwide Singapore) and has worked on blue-chip clients such as Hewlett Packard, AVIVA, Western Union and Dell.Lim joined Dentsu Singapore officially in May, reporting to Rosalynn Tay, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Singapore. Prior to Lim’s appointment, Tay, was double-hatting as the CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Singapore and Dentsu Singapore.Earlier this year, NTUC FairPrice ramped up communication initiatives to counter a false rice rumour. The supermarket brand filed a police report over online rumours that its house brand jasmine fragrant rice is made of plastic. The supermarket chain said that it has since passed safety checks and as such, this false information should no longer be circulated online.
