Peh returns to WS for senior role
Shanghai - Weber Shandwick has appointed Adrian Peh (pictured) to a newly created role as vice president for its Shanghai operation.
Peh returns to Weber Shandwick after a short stint as director of brand marketing for Ketchum Newscan PR in Shanghai.
His role back Weber Shandwick will see him overseeing the firm's consumer team and add expertise in driving initiatives across all the agency's practice groups in China.
Peh holds extensive experience in the consumer space working with fashion, fragrance, cosmetic and sports brands.
His anchor client is Nike China but he will also have strategic involvement with other key clients such as Electrolux, Durex and Gibson.
Other priorities include growing the consumer practice in Shanghai in terms of business as well as resource management and team motivation to further improve the service level and quality of work.
Peh reports directly to Darren Burns, managing director for Weber Shandwick in Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Burns said, "Adrian is a great addition in our drive to create advocacy for our clients in an increasingly complex Chinese communications environment."
He said that the newly created position shows their clients that they continue to invest in the best people to offer them the best thinking and creativity on their programs.
Prior to Ketchum, Peh was previously account director at Weber Shandwick's consumer practice in Beijing from 2005 to 2007. His agency career began at Weber Shandwick in his native Malaysia, where he served as a consultant in 1999.
