Strip’s farewell to Bush
Singapore - In what could be one of the most apolitical ways of building on the US elections, local salon Strip has launched a ‘Farewell Bush' campaign offering cheap waxes.
The tongue-in-cheek campaign leverages on the new era in the US with the end of George W Bush's presidency, to invite people to ‘celebrate change' by offering a discount on their first Brazilian wax. It was created by DDB Singapore.
The creative executions involve posters, leaflets, ambient outdoor stunts, SMS and email blasts and will run across Singapore till end November, while the promotion ends early next year.
"There's a difference between ‘topical' and ‘political'. This campaign is topical - with no political agenda whatsoever. It uses the time-honoured advertising technique of borrowing from high-interest news to extend Strip's typically irreverent advertising. The brand is cheeky, fun and forward, and it calls for a lively sort of campaign," Neil Johnson, ECD of DDB Singapore, said.
