Singapore - The national tourist office for Britain, VisitBritain, has shifted Sumathi Ramanathan from its Malaysia office to Singapore to head marketing and operations for SE Asia.
VisitBritain's office in Singapore is the regional office for SE Asia, and provides support to representatives in Thailand and Malaysia as well as growth markets such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
In June, the office conducted a tender process which ended with Ogilvy being selected to work on its creative brief for the youth market in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia while ZenithOptimedia was appointed to handle media buying across the Asia Pacific. Iris was also selected to work with the National tourism agency, but outside of the Ogilvy-created youth campaign.
"I'm really looking forward to moving ahead with our current campaigns and tackling the tough challenges that lie ahead for the tourism industry," Ramanathan, said.
She was manager of VisitBritain's office in Malaysia for the last three years.
