Hong Kong - Louis Page has resigned as director and chief executive of ATV citing personal reasons. He has been replaced by Ho Ting-kwan, ATV's chief operating officer.
An ATV statement said the resignation is effective immediately. Page joined Hong Kong's second largest terrestrial channel just one year ago vowing to boost ratings and overhaul the stations image.
ATV however has failed to improve its ratings. Despite a lift in ratings after the Olympic Games, data from CSM Media Research shows since late August, ATV has been consistently out rated by its arch rival and Hong Kong's largest free-to-air broadcast group TVB.
"The Board thanks Mr. Page for his contribution in the past year and wishes him every success in his future endeavours," the statement said.
Page was managing director of TVB before leaving the station in 2006.
