Singapore - Companies can now bowl their way to healthier work-life practices and improved business networking sessions with the Canon SuperSeries bowling tournament.

Canon Singapore has collaborated with the Singapore Bowling Federation (SBF) to launch the Canon SuperSeries, a tenpin bowling competition for companies to introduce a new team bonding and business networking activity for their employees. Alluding to this year's emphasis on a healthy work-life balance, Jessie Phua, president of SBF, said, "We want to encourage companies to participate in activities that get their employees out of the office."

Lim Kok Hin, senior director and general manager for the business imaging solutions division at Canon Singapore, hopes the sporting competition would also help empower local businesses to become more effective and profitable. Besides fostering better relations within the workplace, Lim said, "It also acts as a platform for effective business networking, through the fun and engaging sport of tenpin bowling."

Charlie Goh, director of HR for NTUC Club, who was at the launch ceremony with 30 other HR practitioners, said the event provides a great platform for his staff to interact amongst themselves and with others beyond the scope of work. "Staff should have opportunities to have fun, to relax and to make new friends. This balance is the key to staff happiness, productivity and loyalty."

He added that being the leisure and entertainment unit of NTUC, play is second nature to them. "We are the experts when it comes to mixing work with pleasure."
