Global Mags adds Robb Report, Thia

Singapore – Global Magazines is launching the luxury journal Robb Report in Singapore in December, and has hired former Viscion Media Group advertising director Raymond Duane Thia to head up sales for the title.

Robb Report has been around for more than 30 years and is targeted to luxury and affluent consumers. Apart from its editions in the US, it has expanded to Russia, China and Turkey, with moves to India and Spain underway.

The publication will be published by Global Magazines, which was acquired by Yellow Pages Singapore earlier this year. Global Magazines also publishes Wealth magazine.

Thia, who left Viscion Media Group earlier this year, has worked for the likes of Blu Inc Media and MPH magazines. He has been appointed as director of advertising sales. Marc Almagro has been hired as group editor in charge of Wealth and Robb Report Singapore. Almagro was previously editor of magazines such as Proverty Review, Fund Focus and Global Sources Timepieces, and was responsible for the launch of The Peak Selection Timepieces.

Both Thia and Almagro will report to Global Magazines’ association publisher Staphnie Tang. Tang was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.
