HP to open second facility in China
China - HP is set to launch a manufacturing facility in the city of Chongqing to produce notebook and desktop PCs for the nation.
The facility will span 20,000 sqm and is expected to be operational by 2010. When in full operation, the plant is expected to produce enough capacity to meet market demand in Chongqing as well as other parts of China across government, public and retail sectors, the company said in a release.
"We look forward to expanding opportunities for local talent in the heart of China to help us better serve the Chinese market for computing products and services," said Todd Bradley, executive VP of HP's personal systems group.
The Chongqing plant is the company's second operational facility in China, following the first in Shanghai.
