Asia - DHL will increase the frequency of its dedicated Air Hong Kong flights, starting October 27.
Air Hong Kong, a 60/40 joint venture between Cathay Pacific and DHL, will operate from Hong Kong to Nagoya, Taipei, Seoul and Singapore six times a week up from the current five.
On the sixth additional day, Air Hong Kong will operate four additional A300-600 flights on these routes, the company said, representing an increased dedicated capacity of 45 tons per week on each of the four routes.
"Increasing the frequency of our dedicated flights is a strategic initiative which reflects our strong and established presence in Asia Pacific," said Tom Murphy, senior vice president of aviation at DHL Express Asia Pacific.
"DHL's air network currently comprises 30 destinations, served by 20 over aircraft in dedicated air operations. This allows major Asia-Pacific cities and other business centres to be interconnected through DHL's regional hubs and gateways, providing customers with overnight services across the region."
DHL in September announced the expansion of its US$210 million Central Asia Hub at Hong Kong International Airport five years ahead of schedule.
