Singapore – The economic downturn might be sending shockwaves around the world, but one unlikely beneficiary has been CNBC Asia Pacific which has recorded a massive ratings hike.
In Singapore CNBC saw its TV ratings soar in September, with viewer numbers spiking up to 291%, according to TNS Singapore. In mid September CNBC recorded a 106% rise in viewers across all timeslots, with the 10pm band seeing a 291% rise while the average increase on 15 and 16 September was 94%.
CNBC has also experienced audience growth online, as it claims an exclusive online interview with a top financial professional recorded the highest page view hits in the history of asia.cnbc.com – more than 240,000 hits within the first 24 hours.
