Lenovo appoints regional GM
Singapore - Lenovo has appointed Howie Lau, head of its relationship business, as the new GM for its ASEAN and Korea offices.
He replaces Dion Weisler, who is now VP for transactional business APAC, and is responsible for the company's marketing, sales and distribution of commercial and consumer products as well as services across ASEAN and Korea. In his previous role, he was in charge for the sales and marketing for Lenovo's relationship marketing business and was also responsible for strategic business development for large enterprises in ASEAN and Korea.
"My plan to strengthen our market position includes continued brand building, most recently seen in our Olympics and F1 sponsorships, technology leadership and innovation in our engineered products, increasing our footprint in key segments such as SMB and netbooks as well as enhancing the customer and ownership experience," Lau said.
Lau started his career in Lenovo as the country manager and was also with IBM Singapore as country manager for the public sector cluster.
