Taiwan - News Corporation's pay TV group STAR has tweaked its senior management team, moving Daniel Cheung into the CEO role for Taiwan, with sitting GM Jason Siu moving to Hong Kong as GM of Chinese Movies.

Cheung (pictured) has been serving as CEO of STAR JV and Indonesian terrestrial channel ANTV and will be tasked with leading STAR's Taiwan business.

Cheung already holds a number key positions in Taiwan, including COO of China Network Systems, a formerly held cable joint venture between STAR and the Koos Group and general manager of STAR Taiwan.

Prior to that, Cheung was responsible for leading the distribution and marketing activities for STAR across Greater China as deputy regional director for Greater China.

Jason Siu will now be based in Hong Kong, overseeing the operations of leading Chinese movie channels STAR CHINESE MOVIES and STAR CHINESE MOVIES 2.

He will report to Todd Lituchy, president of entertainment at STAR. Siu will also work with the recently launched Fox STAR Studios joint venture to explore and develop Chinese film production projects for local and worldwide distribution. He has more than 15 years of experience in the movie and TV business and has been with STAR since 2001.

Paul Aiello, STAR CEO, said Cheung is a veteran TV executive with an in-depth understanding of the market.

"Bringing in someone of Daniel's caliber underscores our commitment to Taiwan and our confidence in the prospects for this market. I am confident that Daniel will be able to capture the growth opportunities out there and spearhead our Taiwan business to exciting new heights," he said.
