Guinness’ Pool dive

Singapore - Guinness has announced its first-time title sponsorship of the regional 9 Ball Tour 2007, aimed at reaching out to pool lovers.

The sponsorship over two years is worth five million pounds (S$15 million), the largest pool sponsorship to date in Asia. It is also the first time that a consumer and media challenge is held in conjunction with the Singapore leg of the regional tournament.

The tour will come to Singapore from 13 to 15 July 2007 and as part of the event, an Open Challenge will be held in which the top three winners will have the opportunity to partner with a professional 9 Ball player and compete in the Pro/Am challenge during the Singapore leg in July.

"We hope to bring the spirit of greatness that Guinness stands for to more Singaporeans with this pool competition," John Galvin, marketing manager for Guinness said in a statement.
