Skills upgrading gets easier

Singapore -  Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and the Institute of Technical Education have inked a deal that will allow adult students to move between each others' qualification systems without being penalised for it.

This collaboration means adult learners who obtain skills certification under National ITE Certification (Nitec) system or Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) system will be exempted from the same modules when they make the switch. Hence, they can move flexibly between the two systems to maximise their skills upgrading opportunities and attain higher qualifications within the shortest time possible.

This is made possible because Nitec and WSQ are both skills-based, industry-focused qualifications system, where training is delivered in bite-size modules.
