MTV's Stewart tunes out

Singapore - MTV has denied the departure of Ian Stewart, its SVP for Viacom Brand Solutions (VBS), is linked to yet another restructuring exercise at the company.

According to an MTV Networks Asia spokesperson, Stewart will leave to "pursue his own venture" and a direct replacement is not being sought after. Instead, VP of ad sales Vineet Puri will take charge of VBS in an expanded role.

Stewart, who is currently on leave, declined to comment on the reasons for his exit and was also unable to confirm whether the news was part of MTV's plans for another executive reshuffle.

Stewart was promoted to the role in June last year when the company announced more changes to its regional senior team, which also saw Amit Jain promoted to EVP and MD for MTV Networks India, China and SE Asia, and said goodbye to Christopher Steward for a second time. Steward was EVP for VBS and SE Asia.

Jain was unavailable for comment.
