Singapore - The Institute of Advertising Singapore's (IAS) 10
th anniversary Singapore Advertising Hall of Fame Awards has seen a 22% increase in submissions - 85 finalists have been selected and will commence to the finals held on 23 October.
The 'Creative Director of Year', one of the most coveted titles, will see last year's winner Y&R's Patrick Low fend off contenders like Farrokh Madon, McCann WorldGroup; Richard Copping, Saatchi & Saatchi; K T Sandip, Publicis and Terrence Tan, DDB.
BBDO/Proximity Singapore, DDB, Publicis, Saatchi & Saatchi and Y&R are in the running for the 'Advertising Agency of The Year' gong, while OMD, PHD, Mediaedge:cia and BBH will battle it for the 'Media Agency of the Year' award.
There are also new award categories, including 'Woman Professional of the Year' and 'Media Planner of the Year' sponsored by ACP Magazines and SPH respectively.
"It has been encouraging to see the advertising industry here embrace this Awards' initiative. This positive response is clear evidence of the Singapore advertising Industry's desire to create distinctive, effective work," HOF's Chief Judge, Alan Fairnington, Batey Advertising, said.
