Hong Kong - Financial group Citicorp has dominated second quarter online spending in Hong Kong, ranked one ahead of PCCW, Dell and Cathay Pacific Airways.
Despite global market turbulence, Hong Kong's financial sector contributed most to online advertising spend, with a total investment of HK$26 million, accounting of 16% of the overall spending of HK$164 million.
The Nielsen Online report shows that the number of advertisers reached 1,100, with Global Beauty International, Dell and The Hong Kong Jockey Club among the top five online ad spenders.
Joseph Lam, commercial director of Nielsen Online for Hong Kong and Taiwan, said the online advertising market is expected to be an increasingly important advertising channel with a huge room for growth.
Some 2,989 online campaigns were launched in the second quarter of 2008.
