Hong Kong - National Geographic Channel has collaborated with Hong Kong Broadband Network to launch its first interactive channel in South East Asia, Nat Geo Challenge.
NGC will use the interactive service to repurpose its vast pool of content and invite advertisers to interact with TV viewers, via quiz shows and other interactive elements.
David Gunson, senior VP of programming & broadcasting at National Geographic Channel Asia, said Nat Geo Challenge is a significant step forward for the broadcast group.
"Not only [are we] building greater interactivity into the whole experience but also offering viewers a platform to engage and be a part of the overall brand experience," he said in a statement.
"Hong Kong is a very important market for us and we are delighted to collaborate with HKBN to launch Nat Geo Challenge for our viewers."
Elsa Cheung, senior VP of HKBN bbTV, said bbTV was the first to introduce interactive TV to Hong Kong and more will launch in the coming future.
