Kancils will be a scam free zone
Malaysia – Scam advertisements have not posed as a problem to the organisers of the Kancil Awards Festival and they are not expecting any to turn up in the submissions this year either.
Kancil Awards chief judge Ronald Ng says that “it is not an issue right now”.
He emphasizes that the rules and regulations to adhere to include for the advertisements submitted to be substantiated by client approvals and media bookings.
“It has always been like this for us so we wouldn’t really raise it as an issue and if you look at the winners over the last few years, they’ve been big and haunting brands,” he tells Marketing.
Ng adds that the panel of judges also have an eye and ear out to take note of the submissions.
“If someone finds or feels that one of the advertisements is not legit, they will bring it up so it’s really not a big issue,” he said.
The Kancil Awards Festival which celebrates it 30th year, has metals for 21 categories up for grabs, with the “Best Of” category making its comeback.
The month-long festival will kick off with its Advertising Unplugged event for creative students on Nov 5 and will be followed by Kyoorius Designyatra on Nov 13 and 14, Distilled on Nov 17, the Speaker Series on Nov 28 and the awards night will be held on Nov 29.
