Three vying for Malaysia Airlines project

Malaysia – Only three out of five agencies stand to win the Malaysia Airlines project account, and these are Milk + Co – formerly DDB International – Bozell and Ogilvy.

Malaysia Airlines’ senior general manager of communications Indira Nair confirmed the three agencies had been involved in Monday’s pitch. She added that Lowe, which was also invited to participate, had “declined due to a conflict”. The other agency invited to pitch was JWT.

However, Malaysia Airlines could not confirm the date when the successful agency would be appointed to head a small project, the details of which were not revealed. However, Nair said there were tight timelines tagged to the project.

Malaysia Airlines had, in late August, set the record straight by saying the pitch does not undermine the national airlines’ relationship with WPP’s Ogilvy and Mather and MindShare which hold its creative account.

Nair had said the project was in planning stages and the company found it to be an opportunity to work with interested agencies which had approached Malaysia Airlines.
