In just two days Asia's biggest agency awards judged strictly by marketers, Marketing's Agency of the Year Awards, will be held at the Singapore Marriott, witnessed by a sellout crowd.
More than 500 industry professionals will be attending the event, and the competition looks set to be intense, with some agency groups already signalling their intention to theme their tables, dress in team-themed formal wear and to raise the roof during the event.
Marketing's Agency of the Year unique trophy will also be unveiled for the first time on Wednesday night. The trophy was custom-created by Australia's Design Awards, which also designed and continues to produce the iconic Award Pencil, the most recognised trophy on the Australian creative circuit.
Marketing magazine editorial director, Tony Kelly, said the night is a landmark for Marketing magazine, heralding the beginning of an annual event which draws together clients and marketers in the name of recognising excellence among agencies.
"Ever since we did the first special edition in 2005, our winners have asked when we were going to do a live event and hand out some trophies. It is particularly pleasing to see the industry embrace the awards both as attendees and sponsors. We have been getting word back over the past few weeks that the excitement is building, and many agencies intend to make a big night of it," Kelly said.
"One agency has threatened to bring dancing girls to support them while one agency is bringing along their worldwide CEO for support."
A total of 40 trophies will be handed out in 13 categories on 3 September. Dress code for the night is black tie, or your agency's interpretation of it.
