Molloy takes FT's top China role

Hong Kong - The Financial Times has expanded Dan Molloy's role from deputy commercial director Asia Pacific, to president of FTChinese.com and FT Rui.

Based in Hong Kong, he will oversee the commercial operations of both companies and lead FTC and FT Rui's business development and the expansion of product offerings in China and the rest of the world.

Molloy will report directly into Angela Mackay, executive director, head of Asia Pacific for FT.

"His extensive knowledge and experience of the FT will assue us to continue to grow and extend products targeting the rising domestic business and financial community," said Mackay.

Molloy was previously the regional advertising director for North Asia for FT based in Tokyo where he was chief representative responsible for cross media ad sales across Japan and Korea including print, online and magazines.

FTChinese.com has also appointed Tracy Zhang as managing director based in Beijing, responsible for overall operation of FTChinese.com from overseeing marketing, sales, IT, events to the finanacial results of the products.

Zhang was previously deputy GM for Businessweek China for two years as well as worked as chief rep China for Dow Jones & Company.

Additionally, Rui has appointed Qing Shen as managing director who is instrumental in the launch of the magazine and responsible for product development based in Beijing. Before FT, Qing was country manager for Media Convergence, a French media consulting company and also associate publisher for Life Magazine under the Modern Media Group.

Both Zhang and Qing reports to Molly.
