History Channel in HD launches in Asia

Asia Pacific - AETN All Asia Networks will launch The History Channel in HD in Singapore and Hong Kong from September, with Starhub Singapore the first to pick up the channel in HD.

Presently available in United Kingdom, USA, Scandinavia, the Benelux and Central Europe, the channel will be offered on StarHub Digital Cable increasing its total of HD channels on its pay TV platform to five.

The channel will launch in Hong Kong on now TV in late September.

Its programming covers a diverse variety of historical genres ranging from military history to contemporary history, technology to natural history, as well as science, archaeology and pop culture. Its shows include, Cities of the Underworld, The Universe, Ancient Discoveries, and Ice Road Truckers.

The present HD Plus group, will be repackaged into the new Education HD Group, comprising of National Geographic Channel HD, Discovery HD, and The History Channel HD.

AETN All Asia Networks is a joint venture of A&E Television Networks and ASTRO All Asia Entertainment Networks Limited.
