Young, discerning individuals who want to better their lives through technology, from teens to those in their 30s.

Easy-to-understand editorials that interweave the use of technology in everything we do. Local publication tailored to a local following.

Email to the whole editorial team, with a follow-up call.

Print production period - the second and third week of the month.

When it's not during production.

Deadlines and materials??
Before the fifth of every month, the sooner the better.

Do's and don'ts when approaching you?
Keep it casual and transparent.

Best PR approach so far?
It's all about storytelling. Tell us a story.

Your attitude towards a free lunch?
Only if there are no expectations.

Playworks Magazine
Playworks

Target audience?
From teenagers to early thirties who love gaming and geek culture.

Main focus?
Coverage on games, movies, comics, toys, music

USP?
It's not just a gaming magazine, but more of a geek culture magazine.

Preferred PR approach?
Personal and informal.

Worst time to contact you?

Preferred day for attending events?
Fine with most days, except last week of each month and weekends

Deadlines and materials?
Before the 15th of each month.

Do's and don'ts when approaching you?
Don't be too formal or too uptight. Having a sense of humour helps.

Best PR approach so far?
Nice lunch or tea (doesn't matter who's paying) and chatting away.

Your attitude towards a free lunch?
Good as long as we don't have to sit through formal and boring PowerPoint slides.

Fairfax Business Media

Target audience?
Enterprise IT executives all the way up to the decision-makers.

Main focus?
Enterprise IT: infrastructure, hardware, software and services.

USP?
We're the only such local publication.

Preferred PR approach?
If it's an exclusive news piece, genuinely exclusive, you can even call me at home!

Worst time to contact you?
The day before or the same day of an event or interview you're pitching for.

Preferred day for attending events?
None.

Deadlines and materials?
No specific deadlines.

Do's and don'ts when approaching you?
Do not try to sell something you know is not going to be delivered.

Best PR approach so far?
A call on my mobile with a good story.

Your attitude towards a free lunch?
I'd rather not go for one (assuming there is such a thing) and would trade it for an exclusive.

Editor
STUFF Magazine (Singapore)
Roshambo Media

Target audience?
Men, 18-45 years old.

Main focus?
Gadgets.

USP?
The world's best-selling gadget magazine.

Preferred PR approach?
By email.

Worst time to contact you?
Just before the magazine goes to print.

Preferred day for attending events?
Tuesday.

Deadlines and materials?
ASAP.

Do's and don'ts when approaching you?
When sending an invite to an event via e-mail, please include the who, what, when and where as text in the body of the e-mail. Graphics don't always show up and it is extremely irritating to get an e-mail containing no text and to have to download an attachment, then find the file and open it just to see what it is. I just need the information.

Best PR approach so far?
None.

Your attitude towards a free lunch?
I'm fine with it.
