Singapore - Microsoft has launched Xbox Xperts here in a bid to boost local Xbox Live participation figures, and appointed known blogger, gamer and reviewer Sheylara as brand ambassador to support the initiative.
Xbox 360 regional marketing manager Alan Chou also said an ad campaign to promote Xbox Xperts will launch soon.
The localized Xbox Xperts initiative launched last week. As brand ambassador, Sheylara, who is also known as Shen Qiao Yun, is tasked with encouraging interaction between new and old Xbox Live members. This is Microsoft's response to a lack of local sign-ups to Xbox Live despite the free one-month trial period. Microsoft Singapore has offered further incentives by announcing it will give away a pair of movie tickets for every new Xbox Live Gold subscription.
Microsoft also intends to alter the Xbox Live experience for local users. Changes will include allowing members to create avatars with their existing screen handles, a friendlier interface and advanced new features.
