India - JWT Mumbai has been handed the Kingfisher Airlines account, as the company attempts to expand beyond the Indian aviation market.
JWT will now aid in building brand awareness for the airlines in selected target markets both in India and abroad. "The effort will be to create salience around the upcoming launch of international operations of Kingfisher Airlines, in India and the target markets," Dhunji S. Wadia, managing partner, JWT Mumbai, said.
Draft FCB and Bates competed against JWT in the final round shoot-out but according to Kingfisher's GM of marketing, Vikram Malhotra it was the latter's "phenomenal resources" which the agency put behind Kingfisher that nailed it for them.
The incumbent agency was Equus Red Cell.
