McCann Worldgroup Cathay Pacific Central Team (CXCT) has hired Marcus Sigurdsson, former OgilvyOne and Neo digital lead, as digital engagement director. Sigurdsson will report directly into Vince Viola, MD for CXCT. Sigurdsson will work alongside Thierry Halbroth, CXCT's senior CD and will use his Web 2.0 expertise in designing creative solutions to address the airline's digital needs particularly in the social media landscape. Halbroth said the digital work they've been creating in the past few years has been good for both Cathay Pacific and the airline industry, as well as creatively rewarding. "However, we feel a strong acceleration in the digital creative pace where strategy and technology will play an increasingly crucial role. We need to take the lead in this shift and will look to Marcus for insights that maximise the efficiency of all of our digital creative solutions."

Lin will take on a newly created role as regional CD at Hakuhodo in September, and will be responsible for the creative supervision of new and existing businesses between the China and Hong Kong networks. He reports directly to both executive marketing director Akinori Toma and MD Yutaka Shimizu. Lin joined TBWA\Hakuhodo in March this year where he worked on the Nissan and Belle International accounts. Prior to TBWA, he was associate CD at Asatsu-DK Hong Kong. He worked for the Asatsu-DK Group for more than two years including in the Singapore and Asia offices. In his time at Asatsu-DK he worked on campaigns for Hitachi, Nikon Coolpix, Fuji Xerox and Bridgestone.

Hans Lopez-Vito has joined BBDO China where he is responsible for strategic planning for the agency's clients that include Pepsi, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, ICI, FedEx and Visa. He replaces Harjot Singh as the new strategic planning director for the Shanghai office and reports directly into Carol Potter, CEO for BBDO China. Lopez-Vito has more than 14 years of experience in consumer insight and strategy. He spent the last eight years at McCann Worldgroup, Philippines forming strategies for clients such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Unilever, San Miguel Beer and Globe Telecom. Before McCann, he worked in market research at The Coca-Cola Company for its Philippines division and prior to that, spent six years working at TNS.

Lim started her career with Ogilvy in Singapore and had a short stint at JWT Singapore.

Taylor has joined Text 100 as the managing consultant and office lead for the Hong Kong office. In his new role, Taylor will oversee the business strategy, key client relationships, people and office management for the Hong Kong operation. He will report directly to Jeremy Woolf, who has recently been promoted to regional senior VP & global practice lead for peer media. Taylor was previously from Baldwin Boyle Group, where he was working for three years as GM for Thailand. Before that, he was CEO for Michael de Kretser Consultants based in Singapore and prior to that, national communications manager for New Zealand Post. He has over 15 years of professional consulting background incorporating sector experience in finance, telecommunications, corporate and government communications.

In her new role as MD and market leader for BM, Fung reports directly into Simon Pangrazio, president and CEO for BM Asia Pacific. Prior to her new appointment, Fung was the EVP of consumer marketing practice for Weber Shandwick Greater China. Fung's 18 years of PR experience spans across working in leading companies and organisations in Hong Kong from brand building, media relations, issues and crisis managment, to consumer marketing PR and corporate social responsibility.

STAR has nabbed Jonathan Ellis, former commercial director from Eurosport as senior VP of ad sales, based in Hong Kong. He replaces Karen Davidson and reports directly into STAR COO Laureen Ong. In his new role, Ellis oversees the company's ad sales activities across regional markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. He is also responsible for developing integrated marketing opportunities and value added solutions for advertisers and marketers to reach their consumers in an effective and targeted manner. Prior to STAR, Ellis was commercial director for Eurosport charged to manage, co-ordinate and grow sales within the London division. Before Euro, he was head of business development and commercial development manager for IDS, an ad sales house for Virgin Media TV.
