Gilvar swaps BBDO for client, Monster

New York - Monster Worldwide has hired the lead marketer of its creative AOR - BBDO's Ted Gilvar, as its EVP and chief global marketing officer.

"He played an integral leadership role in Monster's 'Your Calling is Calling' campaign, essentially functioning as an extension of the Monster marketing and leadership teams. Glivar has also been engrained in our organisation, imparting his vast marketing and branding expertise to help further Monster's mission to inspire people to improve their lives," Monster' chairman, president and CEO, Sal Iannuzzi, said.

Gilvar will take charge of Monster's global marketing strategy and its advertising and branding initiatives. At BBDO, he was the EVP and senior director at BBDO managing the Monster accounts and National Football League, Target, Guinness and Red Stripe for Diageo. BBDO's president and CEO, John Osborn supported Gilvar's move. "Aside from the fact that Gilvar's a class act, this was an opportunity that we were consulted on and collectively agreed would be great for Monster. And it demonstrates the extent to which we are willing to partner with our clients."
