Global - Newsweek International's publisher, Rhona Murphy, has taken on an additional remit as MD. She will have full responsibility of all aspects of the news magazine's business outside the US.

Murphy has been with Newsweek since 2002, and has been publisher since 2006. She was handling both sales and marketing for the overseas print editions and the website. Apart from her current responsibilities, Murphy's new role will see her managing circulation, finance and local-language partnerships.

"Murphy brings great strengths to this job: keen intelligence, knowledge of our business, competitive insight and a willingness to navigate the globe," Newsweek Chief Executive Officer Tom Ascheim, said.

She was previously MD for North American sales for Dow Jones International and was based in Singapore for a period of time as sales and marketing director for Dow Jones in SE Asia.
