SCMP search campaign goes Olympic
Hong Kong - The South China Morning Post (SCMP) has selected Media Contacts, the interactive media unit of Havas Digital, to launch a search campaign for its Olympic site aimed at overseas markets.
The search campaign, which runs until the end of August, aims to drive traffic to the free Olympic website on Google and Yahoo targeted at Australia, US, UK and Canadian users.
Sean De Cuirteis, regional business director for Media Contacts Hong Kong, said the agency is working with SCMP on its paid for search activity in addition to search engine optimisation.
"SCMP are very clear in their digital advertising strategy and have focused on cost effective activity to drive traffic and registrations," he said.
Ben Abbotts, marketing manager for SCMP.com, said the company is very excited about the launch of its Olympic website and that search has a big part to play in its success.
"Media Contacts are helping us push hard in this area and are driving traffic and subscription to our site in countries including Australia, US, UK and Canada with clearly defined performance and optimisation measures."
Abbotts added since the launch of the search campaign, the increased traffic has generated positive response from advertisers that now counts Omega, Visa and those in the finance and travel sectors.
