Singapore - CNBC's senior marketing manager Elina Lim has left the company not long after the network hired ex-Mediaedge:cia (MEC) group account director Chan Wai Leng as director of marketing and research.

Lim, who had initially joined CNBC to oversee marketing for events such as the CNBC Asia Business Leader Awards, eventually moved on to a more broader marketing role when marketing director Anne Pappas left in April 2007. But in June this year, CNBC's newly appointed director of advertising sales and operations for SE Asia Lim Yew Nee hired Chan to fill a new director of marketing and research role to oversee research as well as brand and event marketing activities.

A CNBC spokesperson confirmed the news, adding that interviews for a replacement was currently taking place. Elina Lim declined to comment.
